We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website. This means we decide how and why your information is processed, and we are legally responsible for protecting it.

2. What information we collect

We only collect information we genuinely need. The categories below cover everything we hold.

2.1 Information you give us directly

Contact form submissions. When you complete the contact form on h2purelife.co.uk, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. The form is processed by Netlify Forms and the submission is delivered to our hello@h2purelife.co.uk inbox.

Order information. When you place an order, we collect your name, delivery address, billing address, email address, telephone number, and the details of the products you have purchased. Payment details are not collected or stored by us — they are handled directly by Klarna or Clearpay (see Section 5).

Customer support correspondence. If you contact us by email or telephone, we keep a record of that correspondence to help us provide ongoing support and to honour your warranty. Inbound calls to our published phone number (01904 530937) may be answered in person or routed to voicemail outside our published hours. We do not record live calls. Voicemail messages are retained in our messaging account until the matter is resolved and are then deleted.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Site analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our website — which pages are read, how long visits last, what device and browser you use, and (at country and city level) where you are visiting from. Google Analytics uses cookies; you can decline these via our cookie banner. See our Cookies Policy for details.

Technical information. Our hosting provider (Netlify) records standard server logs, including IP addresses, browser types, and request times. This information is used for security, fraud prevention, and to keep the site running.

2.3 Information we do not collect

We do not collect any of the following:

  • Bank account details, card numbers, or other financial credentials
  • Health records, medical history, or sensitive personal data as defined by UK GDPR
  • Information from people under the age of 18
  • Information about your activity on websites other than ours

3. Why we use your information

We only use your information for the purposes listed below. We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to third parties for marketing purposes.

  • To respond to your enquiries and provide customer support
  • To process and fulfil your orders, including delivery and warranty service
  • To send transactional communications about your order (order confirmation, dispatch notification, delivery updates)
  • To provide ongoing product support and honour the 2-year warranty
  • To improve our website and understand how it is used (analytics)
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations, including HMRC record-keeping requirements
  • To protect our rights and the rights of our customers (for example, in the event of a dispute or fraud investigation)

4. Our lawful basis for processing your information

Under UK GDPR, we must have a lawful basis to process your personal information. The basis depends on what we are doing:

Contract. When you place an order, we process your information to fulfil that contract — to ship your machine, provide warranty service, and respond to product support questions.

Legitimate interests. We process contact form submissions, customer support correspondence, and basic site analytics on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and improving the business. We have considered your rights and freedoms and believe this processing is balanced and reasonable.

Consent. We use Google Analytics cookies only with your consent, given through our cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Legal obligation. We retain order and financial records for the periods required by HMRC and UK company law.

5. Third parties we share information with

We share your information only with the third parties listed below, and only where necessary.

Netlify (hosting and form delivery). Our website is hosted by Netlify, which also processes contact form submissions. Netlify acts as a data processor. Netlify operates in the United States; data transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the UK Information Commissioner.

Google (Analytics and email). We use Google Analytics 4 for site analytics, with consent. We use Google Workspace tooling for some internal communications. Google operates in the United States; data transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses.

Titan Email. Our hello@h2purelife.co.uk inbox is hosted by Titan, which acts as a data processor.

DPD (delivery). We share your name, delivery address, telephone number, and email address with DPD so they can deliver your order. DPD is the data controller for any data you provide to them directly (for example, delivery preferences).

Klarna and Clearpay (payment plans). If you choose to pay using Klarna or Clearpay, you will be redirected to their service. Klarna and Clearpay are independent data controllers and have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read.

Professional advisers. We may share information with our accountants, solicitors, or other professional advisers where necessary, under confidentiality.

Public authorities. We will share information with HMRC, the police, or other public authorities where we are legally required to do so.

6. How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it. The retention periods below apply unless we are legally required to keep information for longer.

  • Contact form submissions and general correspondence: 2 years from the date of last contact
  • Order records and customer support correspondence: 7 years from the end of the financial year in which the order was placed (HMRC requirement)
  • Warranty records: until 1 year after the end of the warranty period
  • Website analytics data: 14 months (Google Analytics default)
  • Server logs: 90 days

7. International transfers

Some of our service providers (notably Netlify and Google) operate in the United States. Where personal information is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by UK GDPR — typically Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the Information Commissioner. You can request a copy of these safeguards by contacting us at hello@h2purelife.co.uk.

8. How we protect your information

We take security seriously. Our website is served exclusively over HTTPS. Email accounts are protected by two-factor authentication. Internal systems are accessed only by named members of the H2 Pure Life team on a need-to-know basis.

No system is perfectly secure. If we ever become aware of a personal data breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the Information Commissioner's Office where required by law.

9. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have several rights in relation to your personal information. You can exercise any of these rights by emailing us at hello@h2purelife.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

Right of access. You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

Right to rectification. You can ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.

Right to erasure. You can ask us to delete your information, subject to our legal obligations to retain certain records.

Right to restrict processing. You can ask us to limit how we use your information.

Right to data portability. You can ask us to provide your information in a portable format so you can move it to another service.

Right to object. You can object to processing we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests.

Right to withdraw consent. Where we rely on your consent (for example, for analytics cookies), you can withdraw that consent at any time.

10. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have used your personal information, please contact us first at hello@h2purelife.co.uk so we can try to put it right.
